The version of Windows on the device has been upgraded to a version that is not supported for Teams RoomsA Windows 10 device is upgraded from version 1803 to version 1809. Version 1809 does not support Teams Rooms. This problem can occur when theGroup directive or MDM configuration for the DeferFeatureUpdatesPeriodinDays parameteris set to 365 days, which is the maximum. On March 27, 2020, version 1809 is more than 365 days old. Therefore, the Windows 10 device running version 1803 will install version 1809 after 365 days of running version 1803. However, version 1809 is not supported in Team Rooms and may cause issues that negatively impact device rooms.

To avoid this situation, remove any Group Policy or MDM settings that are configured to defer updates. It is important to leave the policy or setting unconfigured and not set to 0. Then the device will always be updated to the latest version of Windows that supports Teams Rooms.

Windows Settings cannot be accessed from the desktop context menu.On Teams Rooms devices with version 3.1.98.0 or later of the app, any user account that has the Teams Rooms app installed can only access Windows Settings from the Start menu. limitations

  • The first line requires a 1920 × 1080 resolution for a 16:9 screen, or a 2560 × 1080 resolution for a 21:9 screen. These displays are set to 100 percent scaling. If the chat panel on the front of the room screen shows an unreadable UI, seeChange the scale and resolution for the front of the roomto adjust the display settings.
  • Microsoft Teams Rooms doesn't support high-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) input. Using HDCP input can cause issues that affect the capture functionality of High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) such as video and audio. To avoid these issues, ensure that HDCP options are disabled on the switches connected to Teams Rooms.

expected behavior

  • If your Team Rooms device loses domain trust, you won't be able to authenticate to the device or access its settings. For example, if you remove Teams Rooms from the domain after it joins the domain, the trust relationship is lost. In this case, log on to the device with a local administrator account.

  • A consumer TV used as a front room display can cause stability issues in team rooms for the following reasons:

(Video) Learn Live: Configure and manage Microsoft Teams Room and Teams devices | CLL90

    • Inconsistent implementation of standby modes
    • Selection of the active video source
    • Incorrect EDID information is sent to the device in the equipment room

Known symptoms include a black or gray screen on the front of the room screen, or the Teams Rooms console becomes unresponsive after waking from sleep. If you experience problems when using consumer TVs, we recommend installing a configurable EDID driver or EDID emulator such asHD-RX-201-C-Eby Crestron, theDR-EDID-Emulatorfrom the FSR Video product group.

  • Teams admin center only identifies valid certified firmware. If the uncertified firmware on the device is updated by means other than the Teams admin center, the admin center only deploys the older firmware. This problem can occur with team rooms on Android devices and team IP phones.
